MNS recalls the need to submit a tax return on income tax for 2017 before March 1, BelTA learned from the inspection of the Ministry of Taxes and Levies for the Minsk region.
"Beginning January 3, a campaign began to declare income received by individuals in 2017. The tax return (calculation) of the income tax for 2017 must be submitted no later than March 1, 2018," the ministry said.
Income tax from individuals, calculated on tax returns, is payable no later than May 15, 2018.
A citizen is obliged to report to the tax inspectorate when selling a second (or more) apartment, house, cottage, garage, land plot, during a 5-year period of sale of a lorry, bus, and a second passenger car within a calendar year. It is also necessary to declare incomes received from abroad. Those who rented a house and the amount of income for the year exceeded Br5.5 thousand, took expensive gifts - for the same amount (with the exception of gifts from close relatives) - are also required to submit a tax return.
In addition, citizens who have the right to receive tax deductions (standard, social, property, professional) can submit a tax return, provided that the duty to provide such deductions to citizens is vested in the tax authorities.
Tax returns are submitted by citizens to the tax authority at the place of their registration. They are accepted on working days from 8.00 to 19.00.
