Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has arrived in Moldova on an official visit. The aircraft with the Belarusian head of state on board landed at Chisinau International Airport, BelTA has learned.
At the airport the Belarusian head of state was welcomed by Moldova Economy and Infrastructure Minister Chiril Gaburici, Secretary General of the Moldova President's Apparatus Ruslan Flocea.
On 18 April Alexander Lukashenko will meet with Moldova President Igor Dodon. The one-on-one talks will be followed by a meeting with the participation of the delegations. The talks will focus on the development of the Belarusian-Moldovan cooperation, and interaction in integration formats, including within the Eurasian Economic Union and the CIS.
Chisinau International Airport is located 13km far from the center of Chisinau and is a major airport in Moldova. The terminal's capacity is 750 passengers per hour. The airport operates 25 flights on average daily. In 2017, the airport served 1.6 million passengers, up 45% from 2016. Moldovan air carries accounted for about 60% of passenger traffic.
