Belarusian and Chinese scientists will carry out 19 new scientific projects within the next three years. The implementation of these projects is stipulated by the programme of scientific and technical cooperation between Belarus and China for 2008-2010 adopted by the 8th session of the intergovernmental Belarus-China commission for science and technologies on June 25.
Leading specialist of the State Committee for Science and Technology of Belarus Alexander Gerasimov told BelTA that the scientists of the two countries will carry out joint research projects in the area of biotechnologies, energy, road building, agriculture, optics, medicine and information technologies. The scientists are also to run the project on the creation of new technologies of metal working and hydrogen fuel cells.
Alexander Gerasimov noted that the National Centre for Technology Transfer of Belarus and the Chinese side signed a cooperation agreement. This agreement is aimed at facilitating the scientific and technical cooperation between Belarusian and Chinese research centres, universities, industrial and agricultural companies. The document stipulates exchange of scientific and technical achievements and providing assistance for Belarusian and Chinese companies and enterprises in finding partners in the two countries.
