MINSK, 21 June (BelTA) – The Minsk Oblast intends to introduce the cluster model for rural tourism, BelTA learned from the physical culture, sport and tourism department of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee.
According to specialists, the tourist cluster foresees the cooperation between farmsteads and the locals to increase the list of various services for tourists. The farmsteads actively cooperate with the locals in the Volozhin and Molodechno Regions, in the village of Komarovo of the Myadel Region.
According to the physical culture, sport and tourism department, the cluster model of rural tourism has been discussed at the 5th National Crafts Fair in Komarovo. The fair gathered more than 200 craftsmen and owners of farmsteads from all over Belarus, representatives of the local authorities, the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, the entrepreneurship department of the Economy Ministry, the Village Recreation Public Association, business unions, tour operators.
The Komarovo Fair hosted a roundtable to discuss the prospects of development of rural tourism, improvement of business climate.
All in all, there are more than 230 farmsteads in the Minsk Oblast including 61 farmsteads in the Minsk Region, 36 – in the Myadel Region, 23 – in the Volozhin Region, 1 – in the Kopyl Region, 1 – in the Kletsk Region, 2 – in the Starye Dorogi Region and 2 farmsteads - in the Krupki Region. In 2006, the Minsk Oblast had only seven farmsteads, in 2007 – 48, 2008 – 125, 2009 – 214.
The farmsteads offer various kinds of services including fishing, sauna and national cuisine tasting.
