MINSK, 12 January (BelTA) – Mobile clubs and libraries will be available in every region of the Minsk oblast in 2010, BelTA learned from Valentina Makarova, Head of the Culture and Art Institutions Department of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee.
In her words, at present 58 mobile clubs, libraries and cinemas are available in the Minsk oblast. This year another ten automobiles will become available to entertain people in small villages. Library buses will become available in the Lyuban, Volozhin, Kopyl, Minsk, Myadel, Pukhovichi, Stolbtsy and Cherven regions, automobile clubs – in the Kletsk and Uzda regions.
According to the source, the practice is more economically preferable to operating full-fledged libraries and community centers in remote villages.
The mobile clubs and cinemas use the latest equipment while the library buses offer fresh magazines and a wide choice of books. Custom orders of the readership are fulfilled as soon as possible, said Valentina Makarova.
She also said that this year nine open-air philharmonic and theatre service grounds have been opened in agro-towns, children’s art classes have been established in the Vileika, Volozhin, Dzerzhinsk, Kletsk, Kopyl, Staryye Dorogi regions, and 30 rural libraries have been computerized.
There are 806 stationary libraries in the Minsk oblast as well as 680 community centers, 20 museums, 94 out-of-school education institutions.
