Bishkek played host to a regular on-site meeting of the Commission on Development of the Principles of Bioethics and Evidence-Based Medicine of the IPA CIS Expert Advisory Board on Public Health on 13 November, BelTA learned from the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly.
The meeting participants considered proposals on the model legislation in health protection for CIS countries on the example of Kazakhstan's Code on People's Health and Healthcare System. The experts also discussed the development of the model law “On Drug Provision in the CIS member states”.
Secretary of the CIS IPA Standing Commission on Social Policy and Human Rights, Executive Secretary of the CIS IPA Expert Council on Healthcare Evgeniya Vladimirova spoke about the prospects of the IPA model lawmaking activities in health protection. Projects for the CIS interstate program of innovation cooperation for the period of up to 2030 were presented by Vitaly Maltsev, director for international scientific, technical and innovation cooperation of the Commission, deputy head of the International Cooperation Department of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Sergei Savashinsky, deputy chairman of the commission, Director of the international organization “Eurasian Cooperation on Clinical Guidelines and Development of National Health” got the participants of the meeting familiar with the roadmap for the implementation of projects to develop national evidence bases in the CIS countries for the next two years.
The draft resolution of the World Health Organization on integration and collaboration in the development of guidelines for research to improve public health was presented at the meeting. The meeting was attended by representatives of the CIS Executive Committee, the Russian Academy of Sciences, members of the Board of the Eurasian Cooperation on Clinical Guidelines and Development of National Health.
The next meeting of the Commission on Development of the Principles of Bioethics and Evidence-Based Medicine of the IPA CIS Expert Advisory Board on Public Health is scheduled in Astana, Kazakhstan in May 2024.
