The Belarus-Finland economic forum has been held in Turku, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.
Belarus-Finland economic forums are held once in two years. Belarus and Finland take turns in hosting them. The recent forum was the fourth economic forum held by the two countries. The previous one was conducted in Grodno in April 2012.
The Belarusian delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Gurianov. The official delegation included representatives of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB), the Grodno Mayor’s Office, the Development Bank, the Hi-Tech Park administration, the administrations of the free economic zones Grodnoinvest and Gomel Raton, as well as the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee and the National Agency of Investment and Privatization. A Belarusian business delegation also took part in the forum.
Finland was represented by Under-Secretary of State at the Foreign Ministry Matti Anttonen.
The program of the event included thematic presentations of business opportunities in Belarus and Finland as well as a business match-making session.
Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Alexander Gurianov held talks with Under-Secretary of State at the Foreign Ministry of Finland Matti Anttonen. The partners shared views on cooperation prospects with a focus on economy and investments. They also discussed a visit of a Finnish business delegation to Belarus.
