MINSK, 7 February (BelTA) – Sofia is hosting the fourth meeting of the Belarusian-Bulgarian intergovernmental commission on trade, economic and sci-tech cooperation on 6-7 February, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Belarus.
The commission is led by Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Elena Kupchina and Deputy Minister of Economy and Energy of Bulgaria Krasin Dimitrov.
The bilateral meeting of the co-chairpersons of the commission as well as the official opening ceremony of the event took place on 6 February. On the first day the commission signed an agreement on information sharing between the State Committee for Standardization of Belarus and the State Agency for Metrological and Technical Surveillance of Bulgaria. The agreement simplifies the sharing of information on technical compliance of goods and services of the two countries.
The co-chairpersons also took part in the opening of the Belarusian-Bulgarian business forum. The forum was organized by the National Center of Marketing and Price Study of the Foreign Ministry of Belarus and Bulgaria’s State SMEs Promotion Agency. Partaking in the forum are about 70 Belarusian and Bulgarian companies.
Elena Kupchina met with Deputy Chairperson of the National Assembly of Bulgaria Maya Manolova. The parties talked over prospects of intensifying the inter-parliamentary dialogue and bilateral cooperation in other areas.
