Hydrocarbon waste recycling factory opened in Minsk Oblast

Belarusian First Deputy Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Minister Iya Malkina was present during the opening ceremony

A factory designed to recycle waste that contains hydrocarbons opened in the town of Krupsky, Minsk Oblast on 3 June, BelTA has learned.

Belarusian First Deputy Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Minister Iya Malkina was present during the opening ceremony. The official underlined that it was a unique project for the Ministry.

Iya Malkina went on saying: “It is the result of the implementation of the investment contract that the Ministry has signed. This is why the success of the project\'s final phase was very important for us. Apart from that, the project brings together three key components, which we include into all the programs concerning Belarus\' future development: ecology, economy, and human resources. We are pleased with the fact that Israeli investments have allowed us to implement the project and demonstrate how the three components can work together.”

Minsk Oblast Governor Semyon Shapiro stressed that the opening of the new factory in Krupsky was very important for Minsk Oblast. “The factory may not be that large, 60 jobs have been created here, but its opening is significant for a town like Krupki,” he explained.

Ambassador of Israel to Belarus Yosef Shagal stressed that the new factory for processing waste oils is a brilliant example of Belarusian-Israeli cooperation. “The project has been implemented with assistance of two major Israeli investors. Apart from that, the factory has been built using Israeli technologies,” noted Yosef Shagal.
