Construction of a BelGee new plant will be launched in 2015, Chairman of the Borisov District Executive Committee Vladimir Miranovich told reporters.
\"The construction of the BelGee new plant will begin this year. The contract has already been signed. The plant will be located in Borisov District. At the first stage it will produce 60,000 cars per year. I think this will be a large and important project that will create new jobs,” said Vladimir Miranovich. Today the BelGee facility is located at the premises of the Borisov plant Avtogidrousilitel.
When speaking of Geely cars Vladimir Miranovich noted that BelGee is expected to increase the localization of production. “Today the cars assembled here are sold on the Belarusian market, in Russia, and Kazakhstan. Other markets are being explored too. I think that the new plant has good prospects,” he said.
With regard to the overall industrial potential of Borisov District, Vladimir Miranovich noted that this year the Borisovdrev timber company completed the comprehensive upgrade of its manufacturing facilities. \"The main task facing the company is to reach the designed capacity. Advancing to new markets is also among the priority tasks.” he added.
