Minsk Oblast Council has awarded talented students of the region taking into consideration their achievements in 2014, BelTA learned from the Minsk Oblast Institute of Education Development.
Minsk Oblast Council presented prizes to 36 students from Minsk Oblast who became winners or laureates of the final stages of the nationwide academic excellence competition in 2014. Thus, six students received prizes to the tune of ten basic amounts (at present one basic amounts makes up Br180,000) for victories at the final stage of the nationwide students\' Olympiad; eleven students who received second-degree diplomas at the final stage of the students\' Olympiad were given prizes to the tune of eight basic amounts; 19 winners of the third-degree diplomas received prizes in the amount of six basic amounts.
Such prizes are conferred every year following the resolution of the Minsk Oblast Council. This practice aims to stimulate social protection, intellectual and creative activities of students of secondary schools and vocational colleges of Minsk Oblast.
