«In September this year we signed a contract to deliver $100,000 worth of goods to Canada and already made our first shipment,» the company said.

On the request of the Canadian partners, the factory designed the new line-up called «Harmony». The new line-up will be available on the Belarusian market as well. In addition, Canadian partners have expressed an interest in natural woolen blankets. The factory\'s has installed new equipment with embedded software which allows producing blankets in different sizes, including for children, with different stitch patterns.

Smilovichy Felting Factory exports from 40% to 70% of its output. This year, the export is projected to be not less than 60%. According to the company, orders for the felt boots for the 2014/2015 autumn-winter season began arriving in mid-August. The factory has already concluded several contracts worth of $500,000 for the supply of footwear in October-November. In the 2014/2015 autumn-winter season Belarusian felt boots will be exported to Finland, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Ukraine.

The factory plans to increase its exports to the United States. Previously, the company focused on cooperation with the western coast of the United States. In 2013, the company concluded a long-term contract with a firm from California and already sent two batches of felt boots. The factory is considering increasing export to the eastern states, particularly Florida.

All in all, the company\'s line-up includes about 30 items. Work is underway on new models including boots with lace and with color inserts. Customers can select a model from the line-up or order boots to their own design.

Smilovichy Felting Factory (Cherven District, Minsk Oblast) is the producer of felt boots, the only one in Belarus and one of the few remaining in the CIS. The company also produces technical felts, blankets and pillows, bathroom suites. The factory is part of the Bellegprom Concern.
