The private joint-stock company BelGee plans to sell not less than 3,000 cars in the domestic market in Belarus in 2015, BelTA learned from the press service of the company.
“In 2014 we sold 2,000 cars domestically. Next year we are planning to increase this figure to 3,000,” the company said. In January-September of 2014, the company sold about 7,500 cars, of which 5,500 cars were sold internationally (3,200 in Russia, the rest in Kazakhstan).
The 10,000th Gelly SC7 has recently rolled off the line. It is planned to be exported to Kazakhstan.
The private joint-stock company BelGee was set up in December 2011. In February 2013 the company assembled the first car. The sales were launched in March 2013. BelGee dealer centers were opened in all oblast centers and big cities of Belarus. BelGee produces 60 cars on a daily basis. The enterprise can assemble 10,000 cars per annum at its top capacity.
A new car making plant is under construction near Borisov. The facility will be built in two stages. Total investment will make up about $0.5 billion. The construction of a plant with the annual capacity of 60,000 cars will be completed by 1 January 2017. The share of local components in car manufacturing will make at least 30% by 2017 and will reach 50% by July 2018.
