PSA Peugeot Citroen will open its car production at the joint venture Unison in Minsk District, Belarus in November, BelTA learnt from Valentin Trigorlov, Marketing Director of PS Auto Group which is an official importer of Peugeot cars in Belarus.
“The new production will be presented in late November. The first cars will be rolled off the line this month as well,” the specialist said.
In his words, there are plans to produce 2,000-2,500 cars in 2015. The Belarusian company will assemble four Peugeot and two Citroen models. “The new company will produce for the Belarusian market at first,” Valentin Trigorlov noted.
According to PS Auto Group, the launch of the local production in Belarus will strengthen the positions and increase the market share for Peugeot, Citroen and DS brands to 12% in 2017.
Representatives of PSA Peugeot Citroen, Unison Company and PS Auto Group met in Paris on 6 October to sign a license agreement on the production of Peugeot and Citroen cars in Belarus. Partaking in the ceremony was Vice Premier of Belarus Piotr Prokopovich.
