A large amount of Belarusian road construction and special-purpose machines might be supplied to Russian regions, BelTA learnt from Alexander Nakhayenko, First Deputy Director General of the Amkodor machinery producer.
The company is in talks over big contracts with Moscow and the oblast and Russia\'s northern regions, including Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area.
Alexander Nakhayenko emphasized that Russia remains the top market for the company. In 2013 the export to Russia accounted for 84.5% of Amkodor\'s overseas sales.
The Belarusian Embassy in Russia is hosting a roundtable on 21 May to discuss the supplies of Belarusian road construction machines to the Russian market. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Igor Petrishenko noted that Belarus\' machinery complex still remains the core of the domestic economy and generates the bulk of GDP and foreign currency revenues. The industry comprises over 300 companies that account for a quarter of the total cost of Belarus\' industrial output.
The diplomat noted that Russia is the major trading partner of Belarusian machinery producers. In 2013 machinery export to the Russian market approached $5 billion or nearly a third of Belarus\' exports to Russia.
