ZTE investments for Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park in Minsk Oblast

MINSK, 4 March (BelTA) – The Chinese corporation ZTE is ready to invest in manufacturing enterprises created in association with Belarus in the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park

MINSK, 4 March (BelTA) – The Chinese corporation ZTE is ready to invest in manufacturing enterprises created in association with Belarus in the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park. The statement was made by ZTE Corporation Senior Vice President, head of the global financial center Shao Weiling as he met with Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich on 3 March, BelTA has learned.

The executive said that the ZTE Board of Directors had confirmed the readiness to invest in manufacturing enterprises in the area of high technologies, information and communication technologies that will be created in the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park.

Mikhail Myasnikovich remarked that ZTE boasts state of the art manufacturing and a rather firm grasp on a market share. The Belarusian head of government learned it first hand when he visited China in January 2014. “The company is entering the Belarusian market rather confidently, too,” stated the Prime Minister. “Therefore, the projects, which are being discussed as major and serious projects of your company in Belarus, are very much welcome”.

A system for monitoring logistics flows on the basis of RFID technologies was mentioned. “Belarus already has the relevant legal base, government resolutions have been passed to determine guidelines for this large project that will bring cutting-edge technologies to logistics and trade,” noted Mikhail Myasnikovich. The complex modernization of the infrastructure of the country\'s largest state-run cable operator is the second project, which is none the less important.

“We consider the first and second projects in their integrity — as intellectual capital and the possibility of the company becoming an investor,” added the head of government. He pointed out that they were talking about rather complicated and expensive projects. Their value is estimated at roughly $300 million.

ZTE Corporation was founded in 1985. Today it is one of the global leaders in manufacturing telecommunication equipment and a provider of finished networking solutions. The state owns a third of the shares, private companies own another third, and the other third is traded on the stock market. The corporation employs over 70,000 people, including 8,000 in over 100 representative offices of the company all over the world. ZTE owns over 20,000 patents. Since 1996 the company has sold its products in 135 countries. The company has established partnering relations with over 500 telecommunication operators across the globe.

The Chinese corporation has been working on the Belarusian telecommunication market since 2001. ZTE supplies telecommunication equipment to Beltelecom, GSM and 3G mobile phones to the mobile companies velcom, MTS, and Life, and Internet access equipment.
