More investors interested in innovative projects in Minsk

MINSK, 20 November (BelTA) – More innovative projects in Minsk find their investors, Deputy Chairperson of the Minsk City Council Zhanna Birich said when opening the 4th Fair of Innovative Ideas 2013 in Minsk.

“Minsk is home to many innovative enterprises. The potential of labor resources is high in the capital city. Our youth, academic institutions of the city are actively developing the innovations to promote the economic growth,” said Zhanna Birich.

The fair is expected to help commercialize innovations, to contribute to the establishment of direct contacts between developers and representatives of enterprises and organizations. Every year the event brings more results, Zhanna Birich said. In the first year when the fair was held no project was implemented. Last year several innovative ideas (almost all in education) were materialized. There is hope that this year a significant portion of the projects will find their investors. Considerable preparatory work was done. The organizers invited partners who are interested in certain innovative ideas.

The fair is showcasing 89 projects in the services industry, agriculture, healthcare, engineering, education, software, forestry, and housing and utility services. Participating in the event are the academic institutions, national organizations, businesses and individual entrepreneurs. The fair features.

The projects include "Human protection device against electromagnetic radiation of laptops,” “Bicycle storage lift”, "Cloak-transformer", “Magneto- therapeutic impact on the human brain”, “Reflex action to raise attention concentration”, “Software support for decision-making in warehouse management, “Biological plant protection means”.

The program of the event includes interactive presentations, discussions, negotiations with potential buyers, and the roundtable "Modernization and innovative development: problems and ways of intensification".

The organizers of the fair are the Minsk City Council, Minsk City Technopark and the Kunyavsky Business Union of Entrepreneurs and Employers. This year the event is held under the motto "Innovations for the national economy". The fair is intended to improve the technological level and competitiveness of enterprises, to advance innovative products to the domestic and foreign markets, to replace imported products in the domestic market, and to increase production and market receptiveness to new ideas and innovative solutions.
