Zaslavl to host classical music festival
MINSK, 17 January (BelTA) – The classical music festival will be held in Zaslavl on 18 January. By tradition Zaslavl 2013 opens a new season of live performances in the country, BelTA learnt from the National Academic Concert Orchestra of Belarus.
This year's festival is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Anatoly Bogatyrev, the founder of Belarusian composers' school. He successfully combined art and teaching activities. Extensive knowledge of theoretical and practical composing, symphony and choral writing, and musical dramaturgy became the unique features of Anatoly Bogatyrev’s teaching style. Among his pupils are People's Artists of the USSR and Belarus, honored figures of arts of the Republic of Belarus.
The National Academic Concert Orchestra of Belarus headed by Mikhail Finberg has prepared special programs from the works of Anatoly Bogatyrev, his contemporaries and followers.
The festival program also includes a competition of students of music schools, exhibitions and meetings.
Zaslavl-2013 Festival will conclude with a concert of Belarusian pop stars, winners of national and international competitions.
