Minsk District 2015-2030 development plan drafted

MINSK, 12 March (BelTA) – A presentation of the perspective development plan of Minsk District for 2015-2030 was presented at the Minsk District Executive Committee on 11 March 2011. Chairman of the Minsk District Executive Committee Piotr Yarmosh said that the document is vitally important for the region. The document lays down blueprints of the future production facilities, infrastructure, water supply and drainage systems, rubbish recycling plants, highways, and railroads. More than 70 idle agricultural premises will be proposed to the investors. The document also envisages the construction of the second Minsk ring road, first municipal railway service (that will link Minsk with Zhdanovichi), rapid tram service to Logoisk, new railway station near Shabany, recreation and entertainment facilities near the Zaslavskoye water reserve. Two new rubbish recycling plants will be set up, as waste recycling is an urgent problem of the region. The development plan also addresses the issues of drainage, drinking water and gas supply. The Minsk District development plan for 2015-2030 is worked out by the BelNIIP urban planning institute. The document is to be approved in the nearest future. The development plan of Minsk District is closely connected to the general layout of Minsk. Minsk District was formed in 1934, as a suburban region. The aggregate area of Minsk and Minsk District totals more than 200,000 hectare. The population is 2.3 million. The companies of the regions pay more than Br1 trillion of taxes.
