Rakov to present logistics center project at investment forum in Frankfurt

MINSK, 10 November (BelTA) – Minsk Oblast will present a transportation and logistics center project in the town of Rakov, Volozhin District at Belarus Investment Forum in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, BelTA learnt from the economy committee of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee. The project provides for construction of two detached modern office and warehouse buildings in the same architectural style on a 10-hectare land plot. The total area of the center is 44 square meters, of which 30 square meters are meant for Class A warehouses, 10 square meters - for refrigerated warehouses for food products that require certain temperature storage regime. Class B offices of an operating company, organization-lessees and partners will occupy 4,000 square meters. The centre will be provided with modern engineering systems, which guarantees necessary comfort conditions for processing and storage. The center is expected to provide a whole rage of service for customers. The economy committee informed that the design and estimate documentation is being prepared, construction materials have already been purchased. Bored piles were installed, reinforced concrete rafts and carcass pillars are being fitted. The joint transportation and logistics center is expected to start operating as early as in 2011. To complete the project $20 million is needed. This can be direct investments (the investor becoming one of the founding shareholders of the enterprise) or loans. Apart from that, Minsk Oblast will present a project in whey processing. The region has plans to sign an investment agreement with a German company on the turnkey construction of an outpatient clinic of Minsk Oblast Teaching Hospital with a Heart Center for 900 visits per shift in the village of Lesnoy. An investment agreement is to be concluded with Danone-Unimilk to set up an export-based enterprise to produce milk preserves and cheese and a protocol of intent with TDF Ecotech to construct a wind farm in Logoisk District. Belarus Investment Forum will be held in Frankfurt am Main on November 17 as part of the Euro Finance Week.
