11% of Minskers get COVID-19 vaccine

A total of 11% of Minskers have been vaccinated against COVID-19, Deputy Chief Physician of the Minsk City Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology Natalya Avtukhova told reporters on 30 June, BelTA has learned.

“The COVID-19 immunization campaign is in full swing in Minsk. As of 30 June, more than 200,000 people got a shot of a coronavirus vaccine in Minsk, which is 11% of the city's population, but the target herd immunity threshold is estimated to be about 60%,” Natalya Avtukhova said.

Several vaccination clinics have been set up in Minsk. Vaccines are delivered at polyclinics, pop-up vaccination clinics at 11 inpatient healthcare facilities. In addition, twenty-eight pop-up vaccine sites are running in malls, markets and the railway station.

According to Natalya Avtukhova, after getting a vaccine jab it is necessary to continue wearing face masks, observing hand hygiene and, if possible, social distancing.
