On the republican competition of scientific biology and environmental work of students of institutions of secondary and further education of children and youth Minsk Region will be represented by 14 people, BelTA learned from the education department of Minsk Regional Executive Committee.

The right to take part in the national final of the winners received a regional stage. Protection of works held in six sections: \"Ecology of plants and bioindication\", \"Animal Ecology\", \"Ecology of the urbanized territories and resources\", \"Water and aquatic ecosystems\", \"Experimental Biology\". The 32 projects presented by the students developed practical proposals to address local and regional environmental problems. Of particular interest were working with innovative approaches to the greening of modern cities, the conservation of amphibian populations and extinguishing forest fires with new environmentally friendly agents.

The main stage of the competition will be held in February in the Republican Center of ecology and local history. 14 winners of the Minsk regional stage will protect their own projects, the problems that affect the status of water bodies, particularly the breeding highbush blueberry, getting environmentally friendly flame retardant on the basis of sawdust, the use of ozonation to increase yields of crops, ecological path of development of modern cities and others.

In the regional education department said that the contest of scientific biological and environmental work is carried out to identify and support the most gifted and capable of carrying out the research activities of students of institutions of secondary and further education.
