Belarusian Potash Company plans to export about 9 million tonnes of potassium chloride in 2015, Director General of the Belarusian Potash Company Yelena Kudryavets told reporters, BelTA has learned.
When asked about the volume of export in 2015, the head of the BPC said that it would be \"close to 9 million tonnes. “We had small growth in January-September over the past year. But the fourth quarter is going to be difficult as we will feel the impact from the devaluation of currencies around the world,\" added Yelena Kudryavets. She explained that the devaluation means that for farmers the Belarusian product has become much more expensive. Thus the demand has slowed down, she noted.
\"We do not want to oversupply the market because this, too, will have an impact on their price,\" said the head of the company.
In 2014, the BPC exported 9.5 million tonnes of potash fertilizers.
OAO Belarusian Potash Company was founded in September 2013. The company promotes Belarusian potash fertilizers in foreign markets. These products are exported to India, China, Europe, Central and South America, the Asia-Pacific region, Africa and the Middle East.
